Harvard ManageMentor
Ethics module - NEW!

Harvard ManageMentor is one of the supporting products available as part of CIMA's CPD solutions for CIMA members. As part of our ongoing CPD support, this business skills resource has been updated with new modules including 'Managing ethical conflicts'.

ManageMentor covers over 35 topics, each with its own module that supplies information and checklists, allows users to test their knowledge online and has further suggested reading. It provides a useful and accessible way to enhance and refresh management and interpersonal skills, and can count towards CPD for members.

'Managing ethical conflicts' is a new module that has been added and provides an interactive way to work on maintaining and developing ethical competence. By using the module members can get to grips with CIMA's code of ethics and be confident in their ability to handle ethical situations in the work.

If you are a member log on now to Harvard ManageMentor within CPD solutions.

New topic gateways

Topic gateways are a new information and sign posting resource on key topics, which can be found in the CPD centre. Recently the following new topics have been added:

Professional regulation

This topic gateway covers professional regulation of financial reporting. It highlights the main accounting standard setters and influencers internationally, regionally and locally. These bodies include the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (US GAAP). It provides links to national accounting standards setters around the world.

Communities of practice

The benefits of professional communities of practice to professions, professional staff and employers are shown here. The topic gateway explains what makes communities of practice successful, and also why they can fail. A case study example is given, along with information on how to set up a community of practice.

Both these topics and more can be accessed from the CPD centre.

CIMA professional development - business as usual

Don't forget that for most of our members, CPD simply means formalising the development activities that you are already undertaking. If you are a member you should now be keeping a record of all your CPD activities, which you can then evaluate as part of our CPD policy. More information on the policy can be found in the professional development section of the website, or refer to the Quick reference guide to CPD, which all members were sent in November 2005. If you are a member and did not receive this guide, please email cima.cpd@cimaglobal.com for a copy.

If you have any queries about CIMA professional development please visit the professional development pages or email cima.cpd@cimaglobal.com
