Studying CIMA

You can start the CIMA qualification after studying at university.

At CIMA and me you can find out about the huge range of career opportunities that CIMA provides.

You can also see our recruitment brochure on our CIMA publications page for more.

Exemptions

You may even find that you're entitled to exemptions from our entry-level Certificate in Business Accounting if you've studied a relevant qualification like accounting, economics, business, finance, law, management, mathematics or science.

Be sure to check with course leaders to find out if choosing certain modules will exempt you from our entry level requirements.

Work experience

Relevant work experience while you are at university will give you a distinct advantage in your employment prospects. Your work experience could also count towards CIMA's three years' relevant practical experience requirements.

Film of students’ views

Our short film about students' experiences features eight students from a variety of backgrounds. They have different qualifications and ambitions, and share their real-life experiences of studying for the CIMA professional qualification.

Fast track studying

There are a number of fast track degree opportunities available to CIMA students and members.

Careers fairs and presentations

CIMA attends careers events and gives lecture presentations about the CIMA qualification at a variety of universities.

'CIMA-qualified professionals are equipped with the necessary skills to analyse financial and non-financial information to make better strategic decisions for all sectors of the global market.' Michael Eow, Director of Finance IRIS Corporation, Berhad, Malaysia.
