CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) will launch the CIMA Excellence in Leadership series on 6 March. The series consists of quarterly reports and related conferences and has been created by CIMA’s Centre of Excellence to focus on core strategic and business issues following in-depth research with the CIMA membership and corporate partners. Aimed at top-level business leaders and senior management accountants, the inaugural report focuses on Business Process Outsourcing and will be published on 6 March, with the related conference scheduled to take place on 20 March.
Articles in the report have been penned by CIMA technical specialists and business leaders, including Zarin Patel, Group Finance Director at the BBC, who offers her view on how best to switch over to outsourcing, Wayne Lewis, CFO at Zurich Global UK, who provides a case study on change management and financial strategy and Dr Martin Fahy, Director of Development, CIMA Asia Pacific, who takes a look at the growing trend for leading firms to move beyond the traditional Finance and Accounting Outsourcing towards the more sophisticated role of Knowledge Process Outsourcing.
The ensuing Business Process Outsourcing conference programme includes a line-up of senior business leaders including Graham Pascoe, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tom Fussell, Deputy Group Financial Controller at the BBC, Paul Blackburn, SVP Financial Controller at GlaxoSmithKline and Annie Guerard, Financial Director at Diesel. “The Excellence in Leadership series has been created as a key benefit to CIMA members and will offer them an insight into their peers’ thoughts on topics and issues at the forefront of the financial business agenda. Business Process Outsourcing is one such topic, and has had a seismic impact on the finance function worldwide.
