This is an interactive learning resource to help you prepare for our TOPCIMA exam.
OnLine is designed to be interactive, but you can download the tasks and supporting documentation and work offline if you so wish.
The resource consists of a series of tasks based around a fictitious organisation and country.
Use it in the following way:
- Familiarise yourself with the introductory scenario and associated material.
At this stage you may wish to find out some contextual information about other organisation in the same industry, however remember that the organisation and country are fictitious. Don’t expect to find another organisation like this one! - Download ‘Task 1’ (see below). You may also be provided with additional information to help you with the task.
- Go back to the introductory scenario and associated material to gather any information you may need for the task.
- Carry out any further research that may help you, such as searching the internet, reading magazines and newspapers, discussing the tasks with other students or using appropriate study material.
- If you need some help to complete the task, download the appropriate guidance note (guidance note 1 for task 1 and so on – see below). This will give you some ideas and help you attempt the task.
- When you have completed the task, download the suggested solution (see below) and review your answer carefully. Learn from your mistakes but remember that the solution is only a ‘suggested’ answer. In case studies that are always a wide range of acceptable answers.
- Repeat steps 2 to 6 above for each of the remaining tasks.
Tasks, guidance notes and suggested solutions are available to download below. Please note that some of these downloads may contain references to the old 2000 syllabus as they were developed initially to support the old Management Accounting Case Study exam.
