CIMA celebrates student excellence at awards ceremony

At the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’ (CIMA), NHS Student Excellence Awards ceremony today (30 November) Jonathan Dove from Canterbury was announced the winner at Managerial Level and Gavin D’Northwood from County Durham the winner at Strategic Level.
 
The awards, sponsored by The Financial Training Company, were presented to Jonathan Dove from Kent and Medway Strategic Health Authority, for achieving the highest mark in the Financial Accounting and Tax Principles paper and to Gavin D’Northwood, placed with City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, for gaining the highest mark in the Management Accounting Risk and Control Strategy paper of the CIMA Professional Chartered Management Accounting qualification.

Both winners were presented with a certificate and an iPod by Charles Tilley, Chief Executive of CIMA.

Charles Tilley said:

“The NHS is now the largest single employer of Chartered Management Accountants in the UK.  There is an impressive level of commitment demonstrated by the NHS in training CIMA students and employing fully qualified Chartered Management Accountants to take on management roles.”

He added:

'I would like to congratulate Gavin and Jonathan on their achievement and we would like to wish them both every success in their future careers.'
