At the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’ (CIMA), NHS Student Excellence Awards ceremony last week, Lorna Harper from Oxford was announced the winner at Intermediate level.
The award, sponsored by The Financial Training Company, has been given based on the overall highest mark gained at Intermediate level of the CIMA Professional Chartered Management Accounting qualification.
As a celebration of the commitment to outstanding performance, Lorna was presented with her certificate and an Apple iPod by Richard Douglas, Director of Finance and Investment at the NHS.
Lorna also achieved the highest mark in the “Management Accounting Decision Making” paper at Intermediate level.
Lorna said:
“I am honoured to receive this award and this has motivated me to continue to do well in the future. I am looking forward to putting the qualification to good use in the NHS.”
Robert Jelly, CIMA Director of Education, commented:
“The NHS is now the largest single employer of Chartered Management Accountants in the UK. We are impressed with the high level of commitment demonstrated by the NHS in training CIMA students and employing fully qualified Chartered Management Accountants to take on management roles.”
