Richard joined the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in January 2001.
He is responsible for CIMA's Innovation and Development agenda, including responses to consultations and promoting CIMA’s profile through the development of new tools and techniques.
As examples, Richard has appeared in front of the Treasury Select Committee on behalf of the profession, presented at several international conferences and been instrumental in the development of concepts such as Enterprise Governance and the CIMA Strategic Scorecard. He is also a Technical Adviser to the UK member (currently Chair) of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants.
Richard has an extensive commercial background having held senior appointments in FTSE 100 companies – J Sainsbury (as Group Financial Controller, previously Group Treasurer), Reed International (as Corporate Finance Manager) and Boots plc (as a senior economist).
