CPD Solutions – products to support members

CIMA Professional Development Planner - due for launch this month
Later this month we will launch the CPD Planner online tool to help support members in their professional development. Using their role as a starting point, users can assess their development requirements, choose activities from the ideas generator and create an action plan. Outcomes of these activities can then be assessed and recorded within the tool as a development record. The resource includes links to other CPD Solutions ensuring members can make full use of the wide range of resources available to them for CPD.

As previously reported a suite of three online tools were launched at the end of June and can be accessed 24 hours a day.

CIMA Inform – available now
CIMA Inform, a compliance and financial management resource, has been designed to keep members up-to-date with changing business legislation and regulations.

Business Source Corporate – available now
This e-journal resource allows members access to an extensive database of over 3,000 business and academic journals as well as news articles, company profiles and country reports.

Harvard ManageMentor PLUS – available now
Providing access to over 35 management topics, this online tool helps users with their personal development in the workplace at both operational and strategic levels.

Members can access all these support products via the ‘My CIMA’ area on the website or by visiting the cpd solutions web page.

CPD Communications

The professional development section of the website also now includes an updated and expanded Q&A section. Alternatively, you can email us with your CPD questions at cima.cpd@cimaglobal.com.

News of CPD developments has also been circulated in CIMA members’ local newsletters, both in the UK and overseas. Look out for more updates in your local newsletter, including a special CPD focus in the current UK Network News.

CIMA Development – the CPD employer accreditation scheme to launch in October

The CIMA Development scheme will be launched at the CIMA Training Conference on 6 October. It will offer recognition to employers who are able to demonstrate that they are meeting CIMA professional development standards. The scheme will encourage employers to support CIMA members in maintaining their skills and enhancing their value to the organisation via a planned programme of professional development. Employers who meet the CIMA professional development standards will be accredited as CIMA Development Partners.

Other key dates for CPD

Finally, CIMA Professional Development comes into effect from January 2006 and the scheme will be launched at the CIMA Annual Conference 2005 on 10 November.

All members will receive a resource pack towards the end of the year as your guide to the new scheme. The resource pack will include guidance on the CIMA Professional Development policy and will show you through the professional development cycle, at the heart of the scheme. It will also give you information and help on recording your CPD; details of supporting products, and services as well as FAQs and other key details.
